
Ms Anita McCaw

Anita McCaw qualified as an Orthoptist from the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital, West Midlands in 1988.
Her first job was in The Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital in Dublin. Following this she went on to work in The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and Craigavon Hospital, Portadown where she gained extensive experience in the management of young children with squint and amblyopia. (lazy eye) During this time she spent a two week period in the eye unit of the renowned John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore USA where she shadowed a team of ophthalmologists and gained further experience in the management of eye movement disorder.
Anita McCaw currently practices in The Mater Hospital, Belfast. She joined the eye team in Cathedral Eye clinic in 2009.
Her areas of interest are the treatment of children with squint and lazy eye and also the investigation and management of adults with ocular motility misalignment and double vision.
